Coventry Alliance – Premier - Mid week fixture: Tuesday 24th August

Stockton 0 v Chris the King 3

A very disappointing result and performance against a average Christ the King team, Stockton were 2 – 0 after 15 minutes from goal keeping and defensive mistakes and found it difficult to get going and into any rhythm, neither side were creating good scoring opportunities and the football was of a poor standard. The second half reflected the first with Kings scoring a 3rd and then having a penalty saved by Jacob Collett.

Coventry Alliance - Stan Oulds Cup

Mid week fixture: Tuesday 31st August

Stockton 3 v Chris the King 1

Stockton bounced back from a disappointing league defeat at the hands of CTK last week with a comprehensive 3 – 1 win over the Kings; Stockton made the early running and could have been 2 – 0 up after 20 minutes with one on ones falling to Josh Cole and Greg Sherringham but Kings keeper blocked their efforts. Stockton pressed but were unable to convert their half chances, Kings only dangerous spell came in the last 5 minutes of the first half with a series of corners which tested the Stockton defence marshalled by Lee Scott.

Stockton started the 2nd half pressing CTK, but had to wait for their first goal and it was their Skipper Luke Cole after 25 minutes scoring from close in after Kings keeper spilled the ball, he then added his 2nd with a drive from within the box. Kings chased the game and reduced the score with a disputed goal and then nearly equalised but it took a fine block by Stockton keeper Luke Malin, the ball was cleared and Stockton countered attacked with Ian MacVarish being put through to coolly beat the advancing keeper.

Stockton are away to Peugeot in the next round 7th September.

Coventry Alliance Premier - Bedworth Ex Service 1 Stockton 3

Manager Baz Sheasby was please to start the season off with a win against a hard working Bedworth Ex Service, it was Stockton who made the early running going close through Josh Cole and Ian MacVarish and were also foiled by a number of smart saves from Bedworth's keeper. Stockton kept up the pressure with Martin Watkins free kicks and corners causing Bedworth defence all sorts of problems but Stockton couldn't find the net. Finally after 35 minutes Cole seized on a defensive mix up with Bedworth keeper spilling the ball for Cole to open the scoring with a tap in.

The 2nd half saw Stockton again take the game to Bedworth but Stockton were undone with a smart attacking move down Bedworth's left hand flank, the cross was wiped in, with Bedworth No 9 firing home from 6 yards to equalised. Bedworth raised their game and it took a smart save from debut keeper Luke Malin to prevent Stockton going one behind. Stockton soon recovered from this blip and after sustained pressure Tom Cooper scored after the ball came back from the bar after a cracking free kick by Watkins. In the closing quarter it became one-way traffic with Lewis Scott capping off a fine game scoring the 3rd goal.

A comfortable 3 points for Stockton and could have easily doubled their goal tally.
